today i saw the most peculiar thing
a great splash of white against a backdrop of pink
it was a winged narwhal flying just above the sea
and when i looked up i could see it was smiling contentedly
i laid down and smiled as i watched it soar
such a captivating sight; i'd never seen anything like it before
its enormous white wings were perfectly aligned
and its elegant horn pierced parts of my mind that had never been touched
and it woke me up
it had been so long since i'd breathed the morning air
it had been so long since i'd been conscious enough to care
and i thought to myself as i looked up at the sky,
"if a fat white water dwelling mammal can fly,
then why can't i?"

this is my last morning here
i dip my feet in the water
from what i can feel, overnight,
the body became hotter
a storm is coming tonight
i'm gonna make some waves tonight
with my talking bird in the backseat
and my quiet one in the front
i slowly creep forward
like a lionness on a hunt
but like a prophet on the run,
i stay out of sight
the more i throw overboard,
the faster i can travel
i throw away a shirt without any hassle
but i still haven't moved that forbidden gavel
it's a weight that's heavier
than a thousand pairs of shoes
than a thousand pairs of shoes
the clouds above are moving faster than me
out of reach, going on for eternity
i feel the wind stirring up the sea
and stirring up the fading embers within me
it's a bit overwhelming in a place that can feel so remote
but it's a bit reasurring knowing that we're all in the same boat
